Lughnasadh/Lammas, 2007

Phew, what a scorcher!

A fine, relaxed sociable atmosphere at The Longstone, as we revelled in a clear blue sky and the full-on Blessings of Lugh, Lord of Light. The bread and the mead from the horn – the Druid Fluid – seemed to go down well with the welcome visitors (it usually does!) and afterwards, we followed the ponies into the copse on the flank of Castle Hill to seek its delightful cooling shade (they clearly had more sense than we did on a scorching day!) and commune with the badger folk who make this steep, wooded bank their home.

Once again, it would seem, Rhiannon was with us in more ways than one: Our toddler, named for the Goddess of the horses, who played happily and quietly around the stones as we offered our prayers; and the ponies who led us to that much-needed shade.
